Second Language Acquisition and Processing Lab
Our lab is part of the Department of Linguistics at the University of Kansas. We use a range of behavioral and psycholinguistic techniques to explore the nature of acquisition and processing in adult second language learners. Our research takes a careful look at individual differences in sentence processing in both second language learners and native speakers, examining whether the skills that underlie native and second language processing are fundamentally similar or different.

The Second Language Acquisition and Processing lab is directed by Dr. Alison Gabriele. We have many active collaborations with the Neurolinguistics and Language Processing lab and the Developmental Psycholinguistics lab at KU.
